Placement of your new carving is very important in keeping it
looking its best. Moisture collects under the carving were it sits on the ground, so the wood
will rout from the bottom up.
The best way to provent this is to keep the bottom as dry as possible. If the carving is going
to be in the weather on the ground, there is things you can do to keep your bottom as dry as possible.
One way is to dig a hole where the carving will be placed, the width of the caving and one foot deep.
Put one inch size stone in the hole for the carving to sit on. This will alow rain water to drain under
the carving, allowing air to flow and keep the bottom dry.

finshing it once a year or it will color like a old barn.
